Birch Run Shelter

Birch Run shelter is located 1.4 miles south of Shippensburg Road, just after crossing a footbridge over Birch Run and just a few feet off the trail. We pass this shelter during the PA AT #3 hike and take a short break here before continuing to the Milesburn Cabin for lunch. There is one shelter lean-to, with a picnic table on the covered front porch. The privy is behind and slightly uphill of the shelter. Across the AT, there is a short trail to Birch Run, which serves as the water source here.
